Dear Editor,
Yet again, great service from our city workers. Monday morning, while on my morning dog walk, I noticed that the water fountain in Ben Rodgers Park had a steady leak. I cell phoned the public works number (586-2600) to report it. By noon, it was fixed. On Tuesday afternoon about 3:45 p.m., I called the same number to report that some irresponsible person had dumped about a pick-up truck load of junk on Piedmont Road (east side) at the top of my street. At 4:30 p.m., on my way to the gym, the refuse was all gone! I called the 586-2600 number to tell them "Thanks. Good job!" I asked the dispatcher her name (Toni); same person both days. Needless to say, these were two examples of excellent service. I would ask city managers to also commend Toni for the great response and also the two or three unknown city workers who got the jobs done. What is truly important here is "customer responsiveness" and the willingness to not only get the job done, but in an amazingly fast and efficient way. We should all be proud of our city and city workers. Well done.
