Dear Editor,
I have recently found out that the Milpitas Parks and Recreation Services Department is looking for input for the Milpitas Parks Master Plan. They are asking citizens to comment on what they like best about the park system and what they can do to improve the park system. Your ideas and opinions can be either faxed or e-mailed.
I have suggested that they develop an "off leash" dog park at the north end of Murphy Park near Yosemite Drive. This area is currently not utilized for any recreational purpose and would be greatly appreciated by all the dog owners who frequent the park now. The only other dog park in the area is the one at Ed Levin Park, requiring people to drive there and pay $6 per visit. It is a nice place to visit from time to time, but not a realistic option for daily use.
If you agree with me that the "off leash" dog park at the north end of Murphy Park is a good idea, let the park system know by either faxing to 942-2460 or e-mailing them at yourparks@hotmail.com. Together we can make the park a better place for those on two feet as well as four.
