Dear Editor,

Speaker Pelosi has been accusing those who are against the proposed massive increase of government-run health care of being pawns of the insurance industry, being puppets of the RNC, and has implied we are "un-American."

I am outraged that the Speaker of the House, who has taken an oath to defend the Constitution, would say such a thing -- freedom of speech is our right and responsibility. I also took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States and devoted eight years of my life to the U.S. Navy. To be called Un-American by Speaker Pelosi for exercising my write to speak

out is an insult. I am no ones puppet, I speak for myself. I will continue to speak out about the President's health care plan -- it is my right and my responsibility.

As a small business owner, I am extremely concerned about health care reform. I completely agree that something needs to be done to improve the system. However, the cost of reform can't be saddled on the backs of small business owners.

Forcing small business owners, who already can't afford to provide health insurance, to pay a burdensome payroll tax is an outrage. Congress has bailed out countless big businesses, but has done nothing to help small businesses like mine afford health insurance. Taxing small business will not reduce the rising cost of health care. How is it a good idea to put another tax on jobs? The new cost on labor will actually kill 1.6 million jobs according to the NFIB and


will make it much harder to hire new employees.

What small business needs are more affordable insurance options and a simpler way to shop for insurance-not new taxes that business can't afford. Congress needs to try again and develop legislation that makes things better, not worse for America's job creators.

Perhaps Ms. Pelosi should remember that she is supposed to represent all Americans and not just a few special interests to win political favor. It is she who appears to be the puppet.

Honda Cancels Obama Care Home Town Meeting

Dear Editor,

Mike Honda has cancelled his only scheduled District 16 scheduled Home Town meeting. He now has granted a few pre-selected supporters the privilege of hearing his voice during a telephone call-in meeting Sept. 1. Like many progressive representatives Mr. Honda cancelled his first meeting because of the quality of questions, quantity of requests and the inability to answer questions with any accuracy or any assurance that they have read or understood HR 3200. Although I quickly registered for the first meeting and called his office to confirm the registration I never received a phone call prior to the cancellation.

I received Mr. Honda's newsletter on the 20th stating that the first meeting was cancelled but anyone could register for the new meeting on the 1st of September. I quickly did so but somehow I do not believe I will receive the codes for calling in to the meeting. I am one of the tens of millions of US citizens who have been classified as un-American, right-wing extremist terrorists who need to move aside, sit down and shut up. Frankly, I find this totally unacceptable and I will continue to voice my educated concerns about the Obamacare HR 3200. If by telling the truth, all voters are getting scared about what is going on in the country, and they should be very scared, then I am guilty as charged.

Last week's letter to the editor by Mr. Means is a classic example of a well trained and obedient middle-level community organizer following the dictates of the ACORN parent handlers. Mr. Means never addresses any of the concerns in Mr. Ruth's detailed analysis of HR 3200. Mr. Means states he does not want to take the time and gives us a link to refute Mr. Ruth's analysis. It is quite obvious that Mr. Means does not have a clue as to what is in HR 3200 and if you read the link furnished it is apparent that the paper was copied and pasted from the White House Web site and emails sent by Obama Senior Advisor David Axelrod, who handles all White House relations with ACORN, unions and the mainstream media.

Mr. Means stated, "The rest of us are talking about single-payer (like Medicare) or public option plans where private and non-profit firms deliver the health care and the government pays the bills." Mr. Means, socialized medical care is medical care or insurance that is funded by the government from public fund. Democrats, Republican, conservatives, independents and even extremists on both sides are getting very concerned about HR 3200 where the government pays all the bills. When the government establishes the committees, appoints the committee members, establishes the rules and controls the funds then that is tyranny and all the members lose their liberty and become slaves to the Government.

Mr. Means, 13 former British colonies fought the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) against the tyranny of the British crown and the British Parliament, and gained their liberty and freedom to form a union called the United States of America. After four years of writing and rewriting, the colonies ratified the Constitution of the United States of America in 1787, which formed a federal system for governing their relationships. The Preamble of the U.S. Constitution states 'We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." I would direct your attention to the words "Blessings of Liberty," Mr. Means. It does not say "Blessings of Tyranny" because there are no blessings in a government that enslaves its citizens with unjust laws, over taxation or confiscation of property and property rights. Furthermore your attention is directed the phase "promote the general Welfare." This does not give the Federal Government elected elitist the power to seize property from a minority of the citizens to establish Single Payer Socialized Health Care programs for everyone except themselves and their fellow criminals. The current polls show that 87 percent of Americans have insurance and the 77 percent of those are happy with their health insurers.

Freedom and Liberty, Mr. Means, are words and ideas that are worth fighting for and millions of people have given their lives willingly to have and protect them. You live in the freest country in the world and I will protect your right to say and do anything with in the laws of this country. I just want to know why you think it is OK for the government to do the following:

1) Take away my right to choose a health plan - any kind, any time or add to or delete coverage?

2) Why do you want to limit me to a government controlled health plan?

3) Why do you put so much faith in government to run any social plan? Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are all bankrupt.

4) Federal Government has spent more than $2 trillion on the War on Poverty, and the country's poverty level has not changed. How is that working?

5) Federal Government has spent more than $2 trillion on the Department of Education and student scores now are worse than when it began. How does that work?

6) Federal Government said if it could increase taxes on smokers it would be able to cut Medical cost by more than 50 percent. Fifty percent of the smokers in the USA have quit, but medical rates keep going up and so do the taxes. How does that work?

7) Obama had to have $830 billion to save or create 2.5 million jobs immediately. Since the bill passed we have lost 2.5 million jobs and growing weekly. In the State of Vermont they have created 765 jobs and more than 700 are in the government. After the Fed runs out of money next year the state will have to raise taxes to pay for them.

All these programs do is create massive government agencies that employ millions of people that produce failure. They are designed to fail. If they were successful then we would not need them! This Health Care Bill is a huge fraud designed to give government more control over everyone's life, liberty and property. Anyone ever heard the word "It is too big to fail" - Well tell that to the U.S.S.R.!

Milpitas residents - Democrats, Republican, liberals, conservative, everyone - please read HR 3200, decide for yourself and then call, email, write a letter or fax your U.S. Representative and both U.S. State Senators. You can, you are and you will make a difference. Stand up for your freedom and liberty and do not let the Mr Means' of this nation intimidate you or think that you do not matter.
