Search warrant stakeout yields five arrests

On March 13 at about 6 a.m., Milpitas and San Jose police department officers executed a search warrant at a San Jose home on the 2000 block of Morrill Avenue.

Police said five people four adults and one juvenile were arrested.

During a search of the home, officers allegedly found a loaded firearm in the bedroom of a 17-year-old San Jose boy. Although the weapon was deemed legally registered, officers arrested the teen for possession of a small amount of cocaine and booked him into juvenile hall.

Officers also arrested San Jose residents Roberta Fernandez, 44, for an outstanding warrant for drug offenses; Carlos Marquez, 31, for parole violation; Emilio Dizon, 19, for probation violation and a felon in possession of ammunition; and Ahbel Dizon, 20, for possession of marijuana, warrants for drug possession, and driving on a suspended driver's license, police said.

Attempted robbery on Pecten Court

On March 8 at about midnight, Milpitas police responded to a robbery report on the 1000 block of Pecten Court.

That night, two men confronted a 19-year-old San Jose man walking in the area. After one suspect asked the victim for money and he refused to give them any, both suspects began punching the victim, police said.

The victim did not lose any property as the suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The first suspect was described as an African-American

male in his 20s, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 150 pounds, with dreadlocked hair, and wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black boots, police said.

The second suspect was described as an African-American male in his 20s, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 150 pounds, with black hair, and wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black boots, police said.

Pool hall assault suspect arrested

On March 6 at about 3 p.m., Milpitas police responded to the report of an assault at a Hung Vuong Billards at 72 Dempsey Road.

Police said suspect Cameron Kenoly, 25, of Milpitas, allegedly punched a 38-year-old man after the victim refused to give Kenoly a cigarette.

The suspect fled, but officers soon found him nearby, according to reports. Kenoly was booked into county jail on assault and battery charges, police said.

Suspected prowler caught in gated community

On March 6 at about 5:45 p.m., Milpitas police responded to the report of a prowler in the gated Spring Valley Heights subdivision on the 400 block of Vista Ridge Drive.

Police said a 54-year-old man was at home that evening when he heard someone at his front door. A man was standing on his doorstep when he opened the door. Soon after, the man fled the scene.

Arriving officers found 21-year-old San Jose resident Matthew Colsten driving a 1997 Ford Mustang in the subdivision with no legitimate reason for being there, police said.

Officers arrested Colsten on charges of prowling and driving on a suspended driver's license, police said.

Copper piping theft on East Calaveras

On March 6, Milpitas police responded to grand theft at Hillcrest Center on the 700 block of East Calaveras Boulevard.

Police said sometime between Feb. 25 and March 6 someone gained access to the roof of a business stole $3,000 worth of copper piping.

Suspected gang-related assault; four arrested

On March 5 at about 3 p.m., a group of 12 teens allegedly confronted three Milpitas teens and a 20-year-old Milpitas man while they were walking on the 400 block of North Park Victoria Drive.

Police said the group punched one of the girls in the smaller group, and then ordered a 15-year-old boy to give up his shirt and hat. The victim complied in fear for his safety.

The suspects took the property and fled on foot. The victims went to Milpitas Police Department and reported the incident. They also gave names of four people they recognized, police said.

Officers located four suspects in what was later deemed a gang-related incident, police said.

Officers arrested a 15-year-old Milpitas boy on charges of robbery, and assault and battery; a 14-year-old Milpitas boy on charges of robbery, and assault and battery; and a 15-year-old Milpitas boy on robbery charges. A 15-year-old Milpitas girl was cited and released on assault and battery charges, police said.

Man eyed for assault on Dave & Buster's guard

On March 1 about 12:40 a.m., Milpitas police responded to a disturbance at GreatMall's Dave & Buster's.

That night, security guards allegedly escorted Jonathan Sanders, 21, of Milpitas, out of the business when he threatened the guards by taking a fighting stance, police said.

Sanders allegedly assaulted one of the guards, causing him to suffer a broken tooth. Guards were able to restrain Sanders, before they turned him over to arriving officers, police said.

Sanders was cited and released on charges of assault and battery, police said.
