Optometry business hit for $5,000 in sunglasses
On Nov. 12 at about 4 a.m., Milpitas Police Department officers responded to a commercial burglary at Milpitas Optometric Group at 1301 E. Calaveras Blvd.
Police said a witness saw two men outside the business earlier that morning. Later, it was determined the front glass door had been smashed.
Police said the suspects stole three display cases containing more than 30 sunglasses. Total loss was $5,000.
Man robbed of wallet, watch at GreatMall
On Nov. 10, Milpitas police investigated a robbery that occurred the day before outside Dave and Buster's at GreatMall.
Police said at about 1 a.m. on Nov. 9 a 22-year-old Walnut Creek man was in the mall parking lot when two men approached and asked for cigarettes. One suspect produced an object, possibly a knife, and placed it against the victim's throat before fleeing on foot with the man's Louis Vuitton wallet, $310 cash and Movado watch.
Total loss was $1,050.
Driver suspected of brandishing gun on Jacklin
On Nov. 9 at about 9:40 p.m., Milpitas police responded to the brandishing of a gun on the 500 block of Jacklin Road.
Police said a 28-year-old Sunnyvale man driving his car westbound on Jacklin Road was allegedly cut off by a late model metallic orange Chevrolet Cobalt. When the victim tried to get around the car, the other driver pulled up next to him and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, before
Officers searching the area were unable to find the car or the suspect.
Burglary nets $29,000 in electronics, jewelry
On Nov. 7 at about 4:20 p.m., Milpitas police responded to a residential burglary on the 1200 block of Canton Drive.
Police said someone entered and exited the home through a sliding glass door. Inside, the suspects stole electronic game systems, digital cameras, a desktop computer and jewelry.
Total loss was estimated at $29,500, police said.
