Appearing at the Phantom Art Gallery in Milpitas are the artistic renderings of Resty Ohao. His latest exhibition of oil paintings is titled, "Nature and Beyond."
Ohao began his journey into art early in life but had to put the passion on hold until 2006. He had started with pen and crayon and returned with oil. Initially self taught, he sharpened his skills through extra training which paid off; his first exhibition was nominated for the Alliance Visual Artist award for oils.
Ohao's work focuses on the details of nature and the particulars of the life around him. The gallery plays host to his oil renditions of nature, from "Under the Sea," to the air, "The Eagle," to "Fire Truck" and "Sports Car," and orchards and "The Golden Gate."
The Phantom Art Gallery is a wonderful home-grown idea that continues to satisfy the community. Local artists are provided a public venue to exhibit their work; the public has a gallery of local artwork provided gratis. I'd say that's a win-win (clichŽ) positive.
The Phantom Art Gallery is located at the Milpitas Community Center, 457 E. Calaveras Blvd. "Nature and Beyond" will be on display through June 13. For more information call 586-3210.
