Milpitas Camera Club will present its fifth annual public show in the Milpitas City Hall Rotunda beginning Friday night, May 2, through Friday, May 16. This year's show will feature photographs from camera club members, artwork from the Golden Hills Art Association as well as selected photographs from Milpitas High School photography students.

The opening night reception will be 7 to 9 p.m. The event is free to the public, and includes light refreshments provided by the Milpitas Alliance for the Arts. Live music will be provided by the Milpitas Community Concert Band.

After its success last year, this year's camera club show will again spotlight the inspired works of Milpitas High School students. In addition, the works of the Golden Hills Art Association will be displayed for the entire run of the show. Those attending the event are encouraged to fill out a form to select a favorite photo and enter a drawing to win one of several prints to be offered as prizes.

More than 15 photographers will display photographs grouped in nature, color pictorial, photojournalism, travel, monochrome and creative categories. Ribbons will be awarded to the winners in each category, as well as for the student work.

Pat Prettie, veteran photographer and judge, will be judging the photographic work. Prettie has been a member of the Contra Costa Camera Club for more than 20 years and has worked as chief photographer for the Rossmoor News for the last eight years. A Founders
